What was your role and involvement with Pioneers of Change?
Learning Participant, Cultivation Team 2006-07
What has your journey been since your time with Pioneers of Change?
Since my time in Pioneers of Change, my career unfolded around the guiding question: how to design organisazions and learning more democratic and alive. After my time in the Cultivation Team, I have joined other learning networks such as the Art of Hosting and the Hub Communities of Practice. Through my freelance work in the social innovation field in Berlin, I moved into the education sector starting a school project to introduce Future as a school subject. Since 2012, I have been an education innovator in a mid-size state university in the north of Germany.
What values, lessons, or experiences from Pioneers of Change have stayed with you?
I still work with the 5 principles in my current changemaking practices and to continuously deepen my own leadership. The Pioneers summary guide on how to build communities of practice is what I still share today with the Art of Hosting network and with my students. The practice on how to host deep learning conversations is the basis for my work in higher education and in societal learning processes that I am currently hosting.
What advice would you give to today’s young changemakers as they navigate their own paths?
For me the most powerful step in joining the Pioneers of Change network, was to write a personal learning statement around the 5 principles and then having reflective conversations around it with peers.
